Setting up a collaborative platform with key stakeholders to develop a methodology for ecosystem based management of aquaculture, on the base of the existing data, in the North Atlantic region. This is the ultimate goal of the event entitled “Marine data to support aquaculture in the North Atlantic” organized by theEuropean Aquaculture Technology and Innovation Platform (EATIP), EMODnet and Mercator Ocean International together with DG MARE and DG DEFIS. Tools for on-line discussions and co-creation were used for the virtual and highly interactive workshop, held on October 20 and 21 from 10 to 13 CET.
EMODnet Secretariat, and EMODnet portals Biology, Chemistry, Human Activities, and Physics will participate to demonstrate the latest EMODnet data and data products.
Participation was on invitation only. Among the attendees: Data centre representatives, Copernicus/EMODnet users, aquaculture producer, technology and service suppliers, coastal authorities, and modelers at regional level. A parallel event in the Mediterranean area is planned to be held in 2021.
