On 19 May, 2022 EMODnet Chemistry was in Ravenna (Italy) for the European Maritime Day, co-organised by the European Commission, the City of Ravenna, the Ministry of Sustainable Infrastructures and Sustainable Mobility, and the Region of Emilia-Romagna. Strengthening the network and planning of joint actions on maritime strategies and sustainable blue economy are the objectives of this annual event, which involves Europe's maritime community. The ongoing edition took place from 19 to 20 May as a hybrid event for 750 physical participants. This year’s main theme is ‘Sustainable blue economy for green recovery’.
Alessandra Giorgetti, scientific coordinator of EMODnet Chemistry, together with Kate Larkin of EMODnet Secretariat, spoke about how the initiative has been supporting the international scientific community and decision makers.
