On 10 June 2021, OGS and MARIS, scientific and technical coordinators of EMODnet Chemistry respectively, took part in the kick-off meeting of EOSC Future project, which has the duration of three years (2021-2023). Integrating, consolidating, and connecting e-infrastructures, research communities, and initiatives in Open Science to further develop the EOSC Portal, EOSC-Core and EOSC-Exchange of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) are the objectives of EOSC Future.
The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is an environment for hosting and processing research data to support EU science. Initiated by the Commission in 2015, EOSC is aimed to develop a trusted, virtual, federated environment that cuts across borders and scientific disciplines to store, share, process and re-use research digital objects (like publications, data, and software) following FAIR principles.
The Marine Information Service (MARIS) company is partner of EOSC Future project. MARIS originated from a governmental initiative in the Netherlands to improve the overview and access of data, information and knowledge about the sea.
