Blue Growth Summer School at OGS: 2-8 July 2022

On occasion of the Blue Growth Summer School organised by OGS from 2-8 July, EMODnet data infrastructure was extensively showcased in a dedicated lesson entitled “Where to find data: EMODnet data discovery and access”.".This year the focus was on the themes related to Copernicus Marine Services and its applications, and specifically: data acquisition and processes; models development; decision making based on data and models.

The goal of the summer school entitled the Copernicus Marine Service as a supporting tool to foster Sustainable Blue Economy was to train promising talents operating in the marine and maritime sectors and to foster networks and partnerships that can help to scale-up activities in support of sustainable blue economy, including research, entrepreneurial and communication actions.

Additionally, during the hands-on session and working groups Elisabeth Kubin from OGS explained how to use EMODnet Chemistry services to easily access data and data products.

The Summer School is addressed to postgraduate students and researchers working in fields related to sustainable blue economy. It is funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research within the framework of the Western Mediterranean Forum (Dialogue 5+5) and supported by the CEI (Central European Initiative). The initiative is included in the Blue Skills project, labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean (2019) and winner of the WestMED project award (2021).
