Since 2020, EMODnet Chemistry and Mercator Ocean International have jointly drafted a shared data product portfolio, a catalogue gathering the available marine data, i.e. different marine parameters from different services and sources (in situ, satellite, models), relevant for the implementation of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD, 2008/56/EC). The catalogue is thought to include different parts, each of them focused on one specific MSFD descriptor to provide Member States and Regional Sea Convention scientific experts with a fit-for-purpose support. The production of the catalogue can count on the collaboration for the following EMODnet thematic lots: Biology, Chemistry, Human activities, Physics, Seabed habitat.
