 Emodnet chemical lot UBSS DQC workshop participation in Rhodes
11-12 April 2011

The Chemical Lot was presented during the UBSS DQC WS:

  • An overview about the Lot goals, the parameters of interest from the MSFD and the specific Regions of focus was given;
  • Was highlighted the importance to collect all the data available for the 3 Regions in the order to show clearly what is already available and the gaps still to cover. For this reason the Black Sea partners were encouraged on the chemical data gathering;
  • There was an open discussion about the QC for the "not classic" chemical parameters to share the common experience and highlight the open issues. Some experts for the Black Sea area were proposed for the Chemical Lot next QC workshop. A draft of a "Quality Assurance and Quality Control of Chemical Oceanographic Data Collections" manual was sent for a revision to the Emodnet Chemistry coordination group and it is available through the web site extranet ;
  • There was an open discussion about the management of the chemical metadata and data complexity highlighting the need to go on with "Adopting and Adapting" SDN V1 infrastructure process.
